Diana had our package completely cleared out early in the process and we went directly to "Clear to Close" immediately after the appraisal. In 1988, Andy answered a recruitment call to fill a critical need for anesthesiologists in the Naval Reserve during the Reagan administration. Andy specialized in obstetric anesthesiology. We were always waiting for the other shoe to drop as to needing something else before we closed. Born in Brooklyn in 1957, he studied medicine at Hopkins, where he continued to practice as an anesthesiologist for nearly three decades. With our non A+ credit, were expecting to have landmines in our closing. We close a week before the original closing date. She was on top of every single item required to get the contract moving. Also, everyone (from real estate agents, to title company) raved about the work of Diana (our loan processor). We were about to give up, but Andy kept encouraging us and helped us arrange the closing cost structure to make it work. We were concerned that prices were going to rise (along with interest rates) until they became beyond our reach. Many homes would get listed and sold within hours. It was a challenge as the Florida housing market is/was fierce.

The journey was almost 4 months from beginning of search to final closing. The 1st home appraised for $60K below value, the 2nd required a transfer of $40K of debt due to solar panels and we decided not to pursue that, and the 3rd ended up being the best home and location of them all. We actually went under contract on 3 occasions. Andy called every sellers agent that we requested on our behalf. We made, at least 10 offers on homes (above asking price). Sellers were clearly deprioritizing VA borrowers. The market was not friendly to VA borrowers. Andy was always a phone call, email, or text away whenever we needed him.
